Mission
Who is Infosteel?
Infosteel, active in Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, focuses on promoting the proper use of steel in the construction sector. As a membership-based organisation, Infosteel has an extensive network of over 600 members that come from the entire steel construction chain: steel manufacture and processing, steel construction, engineering firms, architects, surface treatment, steel trade, façade applications, suppliers, software, etc. Infosteel shares its know-how and expertise by means of study days, courses, project visits, publications, network activities and a helpdesk. Finally, Infosteel is active in numerous technical working groups with regard to legislation and standardisation where the interests of the material “steel” and “building with steel” are represented.
Infosteel’s members enjoy numerous benefits. In addition to discounts for events and study days, the dissemination of member news, publications of projects, inclusion of vacancies, etc. provides additional visibility within the (steel) construction world.

Knowledge domains
Infosteel is active in the various technical domains of steel construction and follows the latest developments closely. This occurs amongst other things by participating in various government committees and disseminating this information to the members and construction world through working groups and communications. The following technical topics are closely followed:

• CE marking and EN 1090
• Surface protection
• Execution and detailing
• Roof and façade solutions
• Etc.
Helpdesk
Infosteel has a helpdesk to answer questions about the various knowledge domains (fire safety, sustainable construction, Eurocodes, detailing, EN 1090, corrosion). In principle, the helpdesk is free for prescribers (investors, architects, etc.). Companies that are active in manufacturing, delivering or supplying steel enjoy a number of hours of free advice in function of the member formula selected. The helpdesk only provides advice that is not binding about technical aspects. Questions with regard to market research, business intelligence, etc. cannot be answered.
